Why Structured Products?
Structured products typically pair a fixed-return component — such as a bond or CD — with an options-based performance component, so an investor's return can be tied to market performance while downside is explicitly defined. Because the fixed leg can return principal at maturity regardless of how the linked asset performs, and the options leg can be structured to target a specific range of gains, this pairing lets investors pursue a customized risk-return profile: participating in upside within a defined band while cushioning against a defined amount of loss — reducing portfolio volatility and expanding diversification beyond plain stocks and bonds.
